During my career in high technology I've spoken at virtually every major industry conference - and a lot of minor ones - at least once. Many times, I was the keynote speaker, others, a member of a panel. My talks and speeches allowed me to take on the role of evangelist for worldwide standards, spokesperson for a completely new technology (more than once) and to promote the books, consulting services, research capabilities and other aspects of the companies that I owned or partnered in.
