• Easily Call Numbers Sent To You Via Text Message

  • WHAT: An easy way to avoid copy/paste, writing things down
  • WHY: Who wants to look for a pen when you can accomplish the same thing in a couple of keystrokes?
  • COST: Absolutely free

keys.jpgThis is one of those quick tips that I use so often that I didn't even think about until Debra watched me make a phone call and said, "Hey - how did you just do that?"  It's so easy, and so easy to describe that I'm almost embarrassed calling it a tip... but I'll be most people don't know about it.

When you receive a text message that has phone numbers in it you can call those numbers easily without having to write them down, use the copy/paste function on your phone (did you know that there was such a function?) or anything else.  Just use the navigation keys (it's a rocker-style key on most phones today) to scroll through the text message until it highlights the phone number you want.  Then just press "Send."  That's it.  No complications or gyrations to go through.

The same process works if you simply press "Send" when the text message is open and it's from someone already in your contact list - just scroll until the name of that person is highlighted and press "Send."   If you have a text message with multiple numbers in it (addresses, times, phone numbers, etc.) just press "Send" and a list of the numbers contained in the text message will appear; just scroll through them until you reach the one you want and then hit "Send" again.

See... told you this one was easy.
